The official launch of Support Our Soldiers as a charity took place at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas on Saturday 27th October

.

We were delighted to have with us Nell McAndrew and her son Devon, Craig Lundberg and his wonderful family, local dignitaries, and of course many SOS representatives & friends.

.

The launch was very kindly been sponsored by Metro newspaper and our sincere thanks go to Liz and everyone at the paper for this wonderful gesture.

Our sincere thanks also go to Craig for presenting us with a cheque for £500 from his Freddie's Fund which means one hundred parcels can be sent to Craig's friends and colleagues over in Iraq and Afghanistan.

• Sandra, Patsi, Pat, Carole and Muriel for all their help with last mintue arrangements and preparing the balloons
• Kat for all her help both before and on the day
• Steve for capturing it all on film - Steve you and all the family are absolute stars!
• The members of Shirebrook Miners Welfare Band for donating their fees for the day despite having travelled many miles to be with us
• Pastor Darren Johnson for his lovely words and for a fantastic donation of £100 towards the Parcel Appeal
• My mum & dad for their wonderful donation of £50
• Rebecca and Ben for the wondeful flowers and lovely note, and to Violet for reading this to us
• Joolz for organising the amazing SOS flowers and to everyone who contributed to these
