Christmas Parcel Appeal 2013

The 2013 Christmas parcel appeal is now closed, thank you for the support.

Every year, to bring some festive cheer to the men and women on operations overseas, Support Our Soldiers runs
our nationwide Christmas Parcel Appeal.

To avoid overwhelming the BFPO system we will be working to a set limit of parcels. Once this number has been reached,
any further donations, parcels or parcel fillers received will be used in the New Year.

In 2012 we sent over 12,000 Christmas parcels which were very well received by the men and women serving overseas
and helped to raise morale at what is a very difficult time for them to be away from their families and loved ones.

How you can get involved:-

Making Up A Christmas Parcel

Each year our area coordinators throughout the UK receive thousands of Christmas parcels to send out to the armed forces serving overseas during the festive season.

If you would like to make up a care parcel or batch of care parcels to donate to our appeal please take a look at our       "Contact Us" page and find your closest area coordinator. Please email them and register your interest and they will then make all of the required arrangements with you to ensure that your parcels will be forwarded to service personnel stationed overseas.

If you do not have an area coordinator in your area and would like to make up parcels please contact christmas@supportoursoldiers.co.uk and we will work with you to discuss the options available. Parcels and parcel fillers     can also be posted to our storage unit. These will be included in our head office parcel allocation. The address is :

 Support Our Soldiers
 Unit 19J
Solway Industrial Estate

Please telephone 07530 316 037 before posting to arrange delivery

(Please note inland postage will need to be paid)

What to include in your Christmas Parcel

We like to make our Christmas parcels special and a little different from the parcels which we send throughout the rest of the year. We tend to reduce the number of toiletries which we include and make up the box with treats and homely reminders of a Christmas at home.

Below is a list of suggested items for a Christmas parcel. This list is by no means exhaustive and there are loads of other great items that you can include!!

Santa Hat, Selection Box, Chocolate, Sweets (Haribo are a favourite!!), Christmas Cake, Nuts & Raisins, Salted / Dry Roasted Peanuts, Crisps, Snacks, Biscuits, Chewing Gum, Small Tins Of Meat / Fruit, Travel Size Toiletry Items (Shower Gels / Roll On Deodorant), Puzzle Book, Socks & Undies, Pens, Pencils, Note Pads and a Small Christmas Gift.

Please note that the following items are NOT ALLOWED to be included:-

Alcohol, Aerosols, Glass, Matches, Lighters,
Christmas Crackers, Party Poppers or Top Shelf Magazines

Please ensure that your parcels weigh no more than 1.8kg and that your items can fit into an average size shoe box.

ALL PARCELS MUST BE LEFT UNWRAPPED AS THEY NEED TO BE CHECKED BY COORDINATORS.

Our coordinators are also more than happy to accept loose parcel fillers to add into boxes being made up.
