Friday 22nd August - Six Smiles Six Miles

Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th August - Sports Six International Triumph Weekend

Patricia and her team will be at the Sports Six International Triumph Weekend at Stafford County Showground from Friday 22nd to Saturday 24th August.  If anyone is in the area please do go along and say hello. Patricia

Saturday 4th September - Darwen Forties Day                          

A spectacular day of entertainment organised by the Soldiers Support Group of Darwen will be held in Darwen Town Centre.  We hope you can come along to enjoy a day of entertainment and reminiscence.   DARWEN’S MAYOR WILL OPEN THE EVENT AT 10.30 AM.   THE TOWN CRIER WILL BE PRESENT.   AN AIR RAID SIREN WILL START THE DAY. Special Guest of Honour will be Gusta Green Darwen’s own WW11 spy. Brass Band with dancers will start the event to get people “In the Mood!” Forties song and dance with Linda Dee – professional singer whose repertoire includes songs from the forties. Film show in Darwen Library Theatre from 12.30 pm featuring films about the Forties. Darwen Comedian Don Banks will entertain. 40s Hair styling by Cameo - Just make a donation for the Soldiers. Military displays with military vehicles & including a climbing wall if you are feeling energetic! Don’t worry - Captain Mannering lookalike from Dad’s Army will be keeping us safe! Morris Dancers, Kung Fu Lion Dance, Mothers Union Table, Slide show in the Bridgewater showing slides of wartime Darwen 10.30 am - 12. 00 noon. Food reminiscent of the Forties will be available in the Market Hall & the Bridgewater. Face painting, bouncy Mickey Mouse, plus more entertainment to keep the kids happy!  AND    MUCH,    MUCH    MORE. . .
