MAKE UP A PARCEL

We encourage individuals, groups and associations to join with us and make up their own parcels or collect parcel fillers.  Every single item donated really does make a difference!  But before embarking on your parcel please read the important information below.  Most importantly please note that under no circumstances are we able to give out the name and address details of Service Personnel.  Nor will Royal Mail accept parcels addressed to 'A Soldier' or similar.  Therefore you will need to arrange for your parcel to be delivered to one of our area coordinators or Head Office.  Our Head Office address is -

SOS Christmas Parcel Appeal

Operations House

2 Whitley Street

Bingley

BD16 4JH

To make up your own parcel use a sturdy shoebox, ladies or gents size 6,7 or 8 are ideal.  Weight limits are imposed so the filled box should weigh no more than 1.8kg.  Every parcel is checked before sending out so please leave unsealed.

:

The key to filling a box is to keep the contents small and light - travel sizes or individual portion sizes are ideal.  We recommend a selection of -

Seasonal Goodies - Santa hat, selection box, mini Christmas cake, tube of sweets, tinsel, decorations

Savoury Items - Nuts, crisps, snacks, pringles, oatcakes, rice cakes, savoury crackers

Sweet Items - Cakes, biscuits, cereal bars, dried fruit, sweets, chocolate, lollies, mints, fruit pots, drinks sachets

Toiletries - Wet wipes, shower gel, deodrant, talc, razors, shaving gel, tissues, toothpaste, lip salve

Clothing - Socks, undies, t-shirts

Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly forbidden and any parcels containing such items will be stopped and destroyed –

Alcohol, Aerosols, Christmas Crackers, Party Poppers, Lighters/Lighter fuel, Matches, Pornographic (even slightly) Magazines/Books

These are the more common items only – a full list of all prohibited items can be found on the BFPO website – www.bfpo.org.uk

If you wish to collect fillers only these should be delivered to us as above and can be placed in carrier bags or boxes.

Closing Dates
To comply with BFPO posting dates all parcels or parcel fillers must be received by the following dates - Sunday 29th November
